International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust

Adolf Hitler, a man and name that resonates fear. Adolf Hitler came into power in Germany in 1933 and twelve years later had contributed to over fifty million deaths during the Second World War. He created a racial state in which people deemed unfit were persecuted, enslaved or murdered.  Hitler in particular, made it his mission to murder all Jewish people within his territory. The Holocaust is the name given to the death of six million Jews, during this tragic period of history.

27th of January is ihe anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp and that date is choosen as "International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust."
